Abstract
The Bohr model is the first model of the atom, which contains elements of quantum mechanics. It was developed in 1913 by Niels Bohr. Atoms exist in this model of a heavy, positively charged nucleus and light, negatively charged electrons orbiting the nucleus on closed paths. By three postulates Bohr sat within the model of classical physics partially suspended. Unlike older models of the atom shows the Bohr model of the hydrogen atom, many observed properties. On the other hand many of the details of spectroscopic measurements are not covered by it. Chemical bonds can not explain it. The concept of on tight orbits around the nucleus moving electrons contradicts the uncertainty principle.
