Abstract
Infant killing in 13 litters of European wild rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus), born within an enclosed (2.2 ha) population, was recorded. Because interspecific predation can be excluded, female-female competition for a limited number of breeding burrows may have resulted in infanticide.
