Abstract
Networks are increasingly seen as a critical element in promoting competitiveness and innovative capabilities in research and technology. The European Commission therefore decided to utilise the competences related to data management and network analysis in order to get an improved understanding of the relationship between RTD networks and European competitiveness as well as of the impact that EC funding has on this relationship and on RTD network formation.
