Research Interest
Leibniz was by today's calendar on 1 Born in July 1646 in Leipzig. His parents, particularly his father, a native of Altenberg in the Erzgebirge jurist Leibnütz Friedrich (1597-1652), awoke early an interest in legal and philosophical problems. His father was a lawyer and professor of moral philosophy (ethics) and his mother Catherine was the daughter of the Leipzig professor and legal scholar William jewelry. The eight-year Leibniz taught himself using his father's extensive library of Latin and Greek. Twelve-year old he developed when thinking through logical questions the beginnings of a mathematical sign language.
